Chinese-machine parts

We make replacement screw elements, kneading blocks, shafts and barrels for food and feed twin-screw extruders, and we have already made them for Buhler, Baker Perkins, Clextral, Wenger and Andritz machines. Food extrusion is not compounding with a different recipe. Moisture runs 15 to 30 percent, the product has to be cooked to a target degree rather than dispersed to a target fineness, and every part in product contact has to be cleanable. That changes the steel grade, the surface finish and the clearance, not just the drawing. We machine to your drawing or to dimensions taken from the worn part, in 300-series stainless or a food-contact-approved wear grade, from 7 to 486 mm screw diameter.

We are an independent parts manufacturer. We are not affiliated with, authorised by or an approved supplier to any of the OEMs named on this page; brand names are used only to identify the machines a part fits.

Food extruder brands we have experience with

Part numbering is different on every platform, so dimensions are the reliable language. These are the food and feed extruder makes we have supplied parts for. Tell us the model and the position on the shaft and we will confirm compatibility before anything is machined.

BrandPlatforms we seeWhat we normally supply

ClextralBC and EVOLUM twin-screw extruders, food and feedElements, kneading blocks, shafts, barrel sections
WengerTX and Magnum series extrudersElements, kneading blocks, wear liners
AndritzFeed, aquafeed and food extrudersElements, barrels, shafts, liners

This is not a complete list. We also supply parts for Chinese and Taiwanese food extruders, and for lines where the OEM no longer supports the machine.

Baker Perkins is the platform we get asked about most often, so it has its own page: Baker Perkins screw elements for MPF and SBX extruders, including the food-contact grades and the measurement route when no drawing survives.

What we make for food and feed extrusion

Screw elements

Single-flight and double-flight conveying elements in food-contact stainless, ground to the OEM profile. Screw diameters from 7 to 486 mm.

Kneading blocks

30°, 45°, 60° and 90° stagger, plus pinned mixing blocks. The stagger is chosen to cook and texturise, not to disperse pigment.

Screw shafts

Splined and keyed shafts in 40CrNiMo, H13 or WR15E, with the coupling end machined to the OEM interface.

Barrels and liners

Figure-8 barrel sections with a polished or plated bore, and nitrided, α101, HIP PM or laser-clad liners.

What to send us

If you have no drawing, send the worn part itself or a dimensional sketch and we will reverse-engineer it.

Frequently asked questions

Can you supply parts for Buhler, Baker Perkins, Clextral, Wenger and Andritz food extruders?

Yes. These are the food and feed platforms we have supplied most often. Send the machine model, the screw diameter and the element position on the shaft, or a photograph of the worn part with a rule in frame, and we will confirm compatibility and quote before anything is machined.

Are your parts made of food-contact material?

Parts in product contact are normally supplied in 300-series stainless, nitrided or through-hardened. Where a recipe is abrasive we use a corrosion-resistant grade at 58–62 HRC rather than a coating, because any coating has to be food-contact approved and an unapproved one is worse than none. Tell us which parts touch product and we will quote the grade to suit.

Can I use compounding screw elements in a food extruder?

Not directly. The geometry may look similar, but the material grade, the surface finish and the cleanability requirements differ. A carbon steel element that works in a plastics compounding line is not acceptable where the product touches the part, and dead zones that are tolerable in compounding are a hygiene risk in food.

Why does my product come out over-cooked or burnt?

Usually too much kneading work for the moisture content, or a residence time that is too long. Shortening the kneading stack or reducing the stagger angle lowers the work input without touching the recipe. Send us the current screw configuration and the moisture content and we will suggest a change.

What lead time should I plan for?

Standard Chinese food and feed extruders are normally ex stock and can ship immediately. Imported-machine spares such as Buhler, Baker Perkins, Clextral, Wenger and Andritz allow 30–45 days once material is available and drawings are confirmed, plus transit. Stainless grades with a specific surface finish can take longer if the material is not held in stock, so order ahead of a planned shutdown.

Do you supply complete barrels, or only elements?

Both. We machine complete figure-8 barrel sections and replacement liners, and we re-bore, hone and re-liner worn barrels back to OEM tolerance with CMM verification before shipment. Elements, kneading blocks and shafts are supplied individually or as a matched screw set.

Send the model, the position and a photo

Email a photograph of the worn part with a rule in frame, the machine make and model, and the position on the shaft. We will come back with a quotation and a lead time.
