We make replacement screw elements, kneading blocks, screw shafts, barrel sections and wear liners for Clextral BC and EVOLUM twin-screw extruders, for food and feed duty. Parts are dimensionally interchangeable with the original, or made from a measured sample where no drawing survives.
| Models covered | Clextral BC and EVOLUM twin-screw extruders |
|---|---|
| Applications | Food and feed lines, including high-moisture cooking duty |
| Interchangeability | Dimensionally interchangeable with OEM |
| Base material | 300-series stainless, nitrided or through-hardened; 58–62 HRC corrosion-resistant grade for abrasive recipes |
| Verification | CMM report per batch |
| Minimum order | 1 piece |
| Documentation | EN 10204 3.1 on request |
| Lead time | 30–45 days (imported-machine spares), plus transit |
The 30–45 day figure applies once material is available and drawings are confirmed. A specific surface finish, or a grade not held in stock, adds to that.
BC and EVOLUM are different generations of machine, and the difference is not cosmetic. Treating them as one platform is the most common reason a first enquiry goes wrong: an element quoted for a BC will not necessarily fit an EVOLUM shaft, and the reverse is equally true.
So the first thing we ask for is the machine nameplate, not the drawing. Once the generation is confirmed the drawing tells us the geometry; before that it tells us nothing useful.
These machines are often run on high-moisture cooking duty — textured protein, expanded snacks, breakfast cereal — where the barrel is long and the product spends time at temperature. That duty moves wear away from the places a compounding operator would look first.
Because the cook profile depends on geometry, the first symptom is usually product rather than hardware: colour, texture or degree of expansion drifting at unchanged settings. That is easier to see than a clearance measurement, and it is the reason lines run past the point where the parts should have been changed.
Individual positions or a matched set. Where only the cook zone is worn we quote those positions rather than a full screw — a full set is not automatically the cheaper answer, and it is never the faster one.
Interchangeable means the element fits the shaft, matches the centre distance and reproduces the conveying geometry, so it can run alongside original parts on the same shaft. We work from OEM drawings where they are available and from measured samples where they are not.
The grade follows the duty, not the brand. A textured-protein line and a dry snack line on the same platform will not take the same steel.
| Product contact, general food duty | 300-series stainless, nitrided or through-hardened |
|---|---|
| Product contact, abrasive recipe | Corrosion-resistant grade at 58–62 HRC (mineral premix, bone meal, aquafeed) |
| Non-contact positions | Nitrided steel or tool steel as for compounding |
| Barrel bore | Polished or plated bore; nitrided, alpha-101, HIP PM or laser-clad liner |
Each shipment includes a dimensional inspection report. On request we supply material certificates to EN 10204 3.1, hardness results and a CMM printout for the batch.
From those we confirm compatibility and quote before anything is machined.
Yes, but they are separate generations and the parts are not automatically interchangeable. Send the nameplate photograph with the enquiry so we quote against the right platform.
The cook-zone kneading blocks, because that is where the shear is. Their crests round off before the conveying elements show measurable loss, and the change shows up in the product before it shows up in throughput.
Yes. We measure the worn part and reconstruct the geometry, recovering the original profile from the unworn section or from its position on the shaft where wear has destroyed it.
General product contact is 300-series stainless, nitrided or through-hardened. Abrasive or high-fibre recipes get a corrosion-resistant grade at 58 to 62 HRC. Barrel bores are polished or plated, with a nitrided, alpha-101, HIP PM or laser-clad liner.
Allow 30 to 45 days once material is available and the geometry is confirmed, plus transit. Stainless grades with a specified surface finish can take longer if the material is not held in stock.
Email a photo of the machine nameplate and the worn element and we will come back with a quotation.
